hoisin meatballs

INGREDIENTS

4-8 T cornstarch

2 large eggs

½ lb ground pork

¼ C minced fresh chives

3 T dry bread crumbs

3 T hoisin sauce

4 t minced fresh gingerroot

3 garlic cloves, crushed

½ t crushed red pepper flakes

1 lb John's Farm ground beef

3-4 T olive oil or sesame oil

 

DIRECTIONS

Place cornstarch is small bowl, set aside. Mix eggs, chives, bread crumbs, hoisin sause, gingerroot, garlic, and red pepper flakes in large bowl. Add beef and pork, mixing lightly and thoroughly. Shape into 1” balls. Toss each ball in corn starch. 

In skillet with sesame (olive) oil, at medium heat, brown meatballs until crispy crust forms. Remove from skillet with slotted spoon and allow to drain. 

Hoisin Meatballs are best served as a lettuce wrap with bib lettuce or as a topping to fried rice.
