Kris
Kris is a fourth-generation farm gal and John's wife. Kris was also raised in Major County, living on the original homestead of her great-grandfather. She and John now farm the land that was staked in the Oklahoma Land Run and is a noted Oklahoma Centennial Farm, having remained in her family for more than 100 years. Kris, too, left the farm long enough to receive a bachelor's degree. To assist with meeting family expenses, Kris pursued a career in the childcare industry - from teaching preschool children to instructing child care providers through her private consulting business, Smartbrain Solutions. Kris is in touch with the farm as she feeds cattle, operates tractors, combines, and trucks, maintains farm records, monitors beef processing, delivers Cattle Tracks beef to customers, and keeps the farm yard groomed.
In early morning light Kris can be seen caring for the laundry and getting the days' meals prepared. During the day Kris is mowing the yard, watering flowers, operating farm equipment, delivering wheat or beef to customers or taking seed to the cleaner. In the light of the moon, Kris can be seen operating a combine to give John a moments rest or at the computer answering emails or surfing the net for innovative ideas on environmentally friendly farming practices. If you look for Kris at special times, you'll find her in the kitchen preparing a meal for the family or in the recliner reading along side her granddaughter, Madison.
